Michael Rosen announced as patron of The Story Works

We are so delighted to be able to announce that Michael Rosen is joining the team behind The Story Works as our patron. Our aim at The Story Works is to inspire every young person who comes to our creative writing workshops to develop greater confidence in their own voice and future – and we can’t think of anyone more inspirational than Michael Rosen in this regard.

Michael is one of Britain’s best loved writers and performance poets for children and adults. He was the Childrens Laureate from 2007-2009 and has published over 200 books, including the recent bestseller ’Many Different Kinds of Love’ and ’On The Move’ plus – of course – the wonderful ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’.

His first degree was in English Literature and Language from Wadham College, Oxford then he went on to study for an MA at the University of Reading and a PhD at what is now London Metropolitan. He has taught on MA courses since 1994 and is currently Professor of Children’s Literature at Goldsmiths, University of London, where he co-devised and teaches on an MA in Children’s Literature, having done the same at Birkbeck.

We are looking forward to seeing Michael at one of our creative writing workshops in Dorset very soon – but more on that later!
